Making the Most of Your LACC Booth Space
The LA Convention Center boasts 720,000 square feet of exhibit hall space. That means there are a lot of options for booth spaces and layouts. For companies of all sizes, a trade show or similar event with booth space offers the opportunity to reach a new audience. It’s also an investment. To make the most of that investment, organizations have to know the specifics of the space, the layout, and what exhibitors can do with that space, such as whether they can use hanging signs or install temporary lighting.
Depending on where your company plans to exhibit, there are a few things to know about the LACC. In the south hall, LACC requires a height restriction on booths and display elements at 36 feet. It’s 33 feet in the west hall (22 feet in the rear soffit area), 16 feet in the Kentia Hall, and meeting rooms have a restriction that is ceiling height minus three feet. The LACC event manager requires a draft-size floor plan for approval to make sure all booth spaces meet LAFD codes.
There are a handful of other rules for LA Convention Center spaces. For example, any exhibit spaces with covered areas that are 750 square feet or more need an automatic fire sprinkler system installed. If you plan to hand out food or drink samples, you must receive permission from the food services division. Adhesive graphics require advance permission, as do foggers and lasers, certain tents and canopies, and vehicle displays.
